Pretty fair. Harsh, as usual. I don't agree on the interior though. I thought it was Yaris-like and cheap. Especially after seeing the JDM ist.
The reader comments were actually more interesting than the review. A lot of people still seem to hate the new xB.

I really don't care what people say or think about the xD. It's my favorite car out there, thats affordable for me, and its much better than my old car. Personally I don't care for the new xB's exterior, but the interior is pretty nice.

WTF are they all talking about? Drop in gas mileage? How about comparing apples to apples? '06 EPA standards and '08 EPA standards are vastly different. Old EPA 31/38 - new EPA 27/34. People should educate themselves before posting their opinions on a public forum (e.g. internet).

I dunno...there wasn't a whole lotta "truth" in that "truth about cars" article... 
The xD's engine does not come from the current Corolla/Matrix...they're totally different engines...displacement is about the same and hp is similar, but that's it...and I agree with Zoltiz when they did not do an apples to apples comparison when talking about MPG...
