Default Where you Jackin' at???

All,

Please don't get the wrong impression when I ask this question. But, I have had some bad experiences in the past when it comes to where the factory shows as the best place to jack up a car/ put a jack stand. So, to all of you folks who have added springs to your car so far, where are you putting the jack stands in the front and rear when swapping out your springs? I haven't consulted the owners manual yet, and just wanted to know if anyone has had any issues with things bending or issues like that.

rich peoples houses during the day while they are at work...

other then that, i always place the jacks and jackstands on the frame rails that run the leangth of the box on both sides. never in the middle in front or back, and never ever under the spring perches.

i run my jacks under that bar you are talking about, and the bar bent....So weak! I hate jacks and jack stands.....I'm going to get the ramps to lift my car up and get the springs done by a pro.

ok i did the drop yesterday, and yes be carefull in the rear if you use that middle bar because it could bend. Oh and if it really bends then your alignment is screwed on the back end. That bar i believe could knock your whole rear alignment out of wack. Anyways under the back of the car left and right you see about a 4-5 inch bar heading toward the bumper and this is where you can put the jack stands. I did this and it held the car perfectly. Up front in the same spots as the back there is another set of bars going toward your front bumper. They are just past all the plastic undercarage parts and use these to raise the car. It look like the floor jack will hit your bumper when using these but it doesn't it's ok. Sorry for no pics i was in a hurry and forgot my camera. But yes do not use that bar in the the back going the width ways of your car.
