Default What happens when the Scion line 'catches on'?

I was just thinking. What happens when every toyota dealer gets their scions? Does anyone think that theyre going to end up being like the civic where everyone has one. I hope that doesnt happen

Well what i seen around here is that everyone is getting or has civics or accords, ever since theyve seen what you can do with them. Every where you look you see a civic you dont even give them a second look. Theyre very common. I'm wondering if thats going to happen with the Scion. Or is it going to be like the PT Cruser you see some but not as much as the Civics.

I think they have very unique shapes the Scion's do...the most unique of course is the xB which I think will always catch peoples eyes....the only thing that will deter that is if and when Nissan brings over the Nissan Cube....they probably will since the xB is doing so well....and all the other Corporations start making box style cars

according to some of hte cali guys on here (which is..what...like 95% of the population on scionlife? :D ) xB's are extremely popular in california. As to if they will be that popular here in Texas, as I noticed you're in austin , that's yet to be determined. We'll just have to wait and see really.

Default honestly

the scion is a hit or miss type car for people, but it is extremely popular and yes its the next civic imho. but who cares its how you do it up that makes it nice. If you rice it up rice it up, that leaves room for people that wanna build a clean ride =)

its scary and i try not to think about it so much, but yeah its very likely that it will become the next Civic.
i mean, even my mom who thinks the xB is ugly wouldn't mind owning one because of how practical it is.

i think any car weather its a nice WRX
or a scion. its not gonna matter.
there WILL be ricers or ghettto people
making their car look bad for us.
or acting a fool with their 105 hp
'RACECAR'. but its up to u..
i mean u may see tons of riced out civics,
but u DO see nice ones as well right?
same will be for scions.. u'll have your
share of cars u like and cars u hate.

this is what i was worried about to on another topic "mystery kit" i believe the xb did a headlight conversion some people thought it was too "ricey" but i think thats whats going to end up happening when theyre all over people are going to start doing extreme stuff to make theirs different from all the rest and try to stand out but yeah joey does have a point

I'm confused, ru saying old people shouldn't try to be young at heart and be friendly to fellow scioners?

What is old?

I've seen a couple other xB's in my travels and I wave and they look at me like they are clueless.... or have a 'tude towards someone who looks old.

i doubt it will be as popular as civics. try to do this, i know lots of us have other forums that we go to. get a poll on how they think about the xB. on 190Erevolution, we have a post about it and its only about 10% like it. on about 25 person that i spoke with about it, only one liked it. no matter how i tried to exlain to them about the special stuff the xB has, they still can't embrace it. it doesn't matter to me. I LIKE XB!!!! i'm having dreams sleeping or awake about this car. i'm going to get it soon!!!!, just saving up a little more for down payment, and still looking for lower rate loans.

The question is, do you want it because it is trendy or because it is useful?

If trendyness is your goal then you have to accept the insecurity inherent in following the crowd.

OTOH, if you buy the vehicle because of its utility, you'll be happy no matter how many they sell. In fact, you'll hope that they sell millions of the things to ensure a long-term parts supply!

George <--who leans toward the second scenario

I bought one for the usefulness and the other for a play toy!

The pricing system is intended for quantity sales, so I'd assume that's what Scion's counting on. I see another xB almost every day just driving up and down the 55 to work. They'll definitely be popular, there's just too good of a value not to be!

Its just going to be sad when the day comes that I'm not impressed to see another scion on the road. But that day will definitely come. They're just far too practical and cool!

If you're concerned about being original, better off getting an old car and customizing it. Otherwise (in creepy cult voice) "JOINNN UUUUSSSSSSS"

It will inevitably happen, because most will want a car that they can pack a lot of stuff in, and that is versitile, and cheap.

Just be gald if you are one of the first in your area to have the xB. And if your like most of us here on the East Coast, for $980 more, get the Hot Lava Orange, and be even more stand-out-ish! Just sucks that we have to wait 4 more weeks, but i bet it will be worth the wait.

I can deal with the Scion becoming the next Civic. I just hope it's not the next PT Cruiser
