aww hell, warn us next time, I almost choked on my drink!
It'll look different and sound different, but the restriction of the stock exhaust manifold, cat and scuba tank resonator/cat; along with the stock intake, will not result in any noticeable performance gains.

DANG MAN GROW UP I WILL WRITE IN CAPS AS LONG AS I WANT TO
this the reason why some good threads get locked and deleted cause some people cant keep their comments to them selves plus are you a MOD if the caps bugged you well to bad it was a mistake you need to grow up and get on topic stop B.S. with lame comments
ok, i know in a few weeks/months, there will be cheaper prices on the net, but is $440 really worth it for this system? it looks great, don't get me wrong, but seriously... what makes this one better than another one? (i'm not being a smarty pants on this one, i'm really curious if its a personal choice or if there are serious gains, other than cosmetics)
You're definitely paying a premium for the Tanabe name, and the impeccable reputation for quality that goes along with it.
Is the TRD axle-back worth the M.S.R.P. of $469?
Keep in mind that most everything is available at a discount after a short period of time.
For example, Tanabe's NF210 springs listed for $250 M.S.R.P., but when I got mine I paid $162.50; if you're patient I'm sure this will be available cheaper after a little time passes.

I suspect TRD prices tend to be somewhat inflated, but I guess that's the cost of the house marque of excellence
! I VERY much like my TRD leather shift ****, but it is easily the most expensive of the standard **** options! I personally have a liking for low to modest cost, but the value has to be there, and in the business world -- once the quality has been established, the price tends to creep
!
From what I read, the Tanabe Medallion axleback provides a premium quality sound and appearance. I could easily be a buyer if I'd reason to believe it also delivers in low to mid torque. However, I notice their write up emphasizes sound, appearance, and quality -- any performance improvement over stock gets little to no mention. To each there own, but I consider the price to be awfully high if all it provides is "impress your friends" value
(hence my above question!) Still, this seems to be a world were appearance and sound means more than street performance. That's fine, but it has limited appeal for my dollars!
PS. My big splurge was the rear spoiler -- a crazy expense at $420 installed with my xB purchase, but that's the whimsy of personal taste coming to play
