i did use search. so many different opinions.. this is my set up. injen cai/tsudo 4-2-1- header/tsudo s pipe/tsudo mid pipe with 18 inch built in resonator and hks hi power exhaust. very noticible gain and very loud exhaust tone. the tone of the exhaust in normal driving is very deep and very little rasp. heres my problem starts when i accelarate faster than normal very raspy tone. i know i need to get a resonator to cut down the rasp. any similar or close to my set up. whats the good size resonator for my problem. thanks.....

 

30 inch resonator instead of the 18...no rasp

 

I was thinking about 30inch if I go this route will I still have that loud deep tone? Will I lose the benefit of having a header?

 

What kind of fitment issues with a 30in. 6in. round res.

no, it just supressed the rasp, you will not lose anything...and there should be no fitment issues...just hangs down a little bit

 

r u sure cause some hear said it will cause back pressure and the tone will be quite. any imput on this thanks...

of course it will be a little more quite...that's why it takes away the rasp...the back pressure is more due to the constant flow in the pipes...inside the resonator is a bunch of deadening stuff, for sound. It's not a completely hollow piece that will keep the exhaust fumes in it...so no back pressure unlike if you had 3" piping on an NA tC

 

i went to this mom and pops muffler shop earlier today. they want to charge me $90 for a 30 inch resonator and incliding install. is that a good price. he showed me 2 kinds. first looks like a shark teeth inside the pipe. second one is bunch of holes but no teeth. any difference or there just the same thing just personal preference.

 

get one or two Aero AR25 resonators and you'll be good to go!

 

Is the 2 aeros ones better than one long 30inch.

 

^ absolutely, you can probably get away with just one aero actually, but i'd go with 2.

 

mmmm yea u can go with 2 aeros.. but i went with a 27in 6 round magnaflow resonator but basically most of my mid pipe was gone because the resonator was to long and big lol it was like flange /a inch of mid pipe / resonator/ 5 inch of mid pipe / flange / hks hi-power. hahaha iono i like my car tone... i have megan racing headers so it was raspy ___ hell and i had this installed and deleted my cat and i liked it.

 

I have the same problem with rasp. If I had an aero AR25 welded on to my stock midpipe would that be enough to get rid of most of the rasp.

Lilfunnijon I forgot to ask u is ur exhaust still sounds loud but deep? Cause that's what I want. When I have stock header my his sounds deep and loud now after the header is like fart can. Also my exhaust fume is really bad. Its that normal? Sorry for asking to much questions. Thanks........

 

mmmm my car sounds loud and deep i dont hear rasp.. im pretty much busy this week for finals and stuff. but yea i have a 27 in 6 round its good but i had to make alot of space for it to fit on my mid pipe... had to delete my mid pipe cat and everything else to fit the resonator.

 

ok I'm going with the 30 inch resonator and I will let evwrybody know how's the result.

 

I just tried to get a 27 long 6 round put in today at a shop and they installed the high flow cat but said the res was only .25 clearence around and would probly rattle. Also they said it was too long and would not clear the heat shield or the brace that runs across the exhaust canal.

I am going to try a areo res or a 14 in 5 round magnaflow, not sure yet. Just putting the high flow cat on made it sound raspyer at full throttle but at high speeds 70mph+ it is queiter.

This sucks, i have to send the res thats to big back then wait for them to credit my card, then order another one and start the process all over agian

 

mmmm iono i dont even have a cat cause i had no space so i just had everything cut off flange 2 inch of mid pipe then resonator then the rest of the mid pipe thats bolt'd to my axle back. it doesnt rattle for me.... he removed this metal thing that holds the mid pipe if the hanger falls off to make space for my resonator so it doesnt touch the car.. thats probbly what he was tlaking about.. because my guy said he has to remove that to the resonator doesnt touch the car so it doesnt rattle. but iono
