If your fuel pump stop working your gonna need a tow home. I will look and see if there is a reset switch for it or which fuse controls it but from what you have described it doesn't sound good. Maybe someone else knows how to get a TC home with a broken fuel pump without a tow, I don't.

if you hear a whine = your fuel pump is still working unless its not getting enough fuel pressure

you could also have a clogged fuel filter and your pump will be in your tank the fuel helps cool it and also all the pumps ive seen go bad do it all of a sudden the stalling idle makes me think its a filter

Fuel pump is in the fuel tank. You will have to drop the tank, usually 2 straps to unbolt and you will see the wires, etc. on top. Don't forget to drain it first, it can be really heavy if its full. I had to replace a couple sending units in other cars before and they are also in the tank.
