Oh and Exhaust Only Dyno posted Has been the TC Tunerz and weapon Rs header. I myself have not seen any Real dyno numbers on mufflers or catbacks, which is odd with all the numbers flying about the net on other cars.

if you guys have money to burn and are uncertain about hp/tq mods......go for suspension mods. TRD springs/struts, sway bars, strut bars, brakes, tires or go for a carbon fiber hood or something like that. im waiting for my hp/tq mods when there are solid numbers and prices go down! plus you dont wanna have all this powa and a stock suspension putting it down!

i got a new set of rims & tires coming...

ADR's + Avon M500's
Suspension I'm going to hit up my old workplace and order me some Tein S-Techs and see what i can find for struts.

Brakes I got some stainless lines to install

but I really want some power right now....just to put closer to my celica when stock (although nothing beats vvtl-i)

For what, emissions? The only reason vtec/vvtl-i is so great is that it lets you run more than one cam profile. If you want real power, get more aggressive cams and drop vvtl-i all together.

Yeah ive seen that link unfortunately i dont find pics specs on those individual parts themselves. I want to know the quality of those parts before i put my money down. I just wish TRD got in gear with aftermarket parts . Man i wish they realeased headers , high flow cats and other performance parts, all they realease are mild upgrades. With the exception of the SC. Would be nice to Install headers full exhaust and not have to fiddle with warranty issues .

That is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard. If you ran a cam in you car with a profile as agrresive as the "high cam" on a vvtl-i or vtec car your car would barely run. There would be way to much air coming in for the car to idle and your car would bog and fall on it's face until you reached a rpm where the air could be utilized. (by the way this would be 3500+ rpm)Thus the reason vvtli or vtec is so good is it allows you to use a mildy agressive good mid/lowrange cam at low rpm and switch to a high duration high lift at high rpm where the extra air will be useful. This allows you to make the most possible power no matter where you are in the enignes rpm range.

I'd like to see some real gains for basic I/H/E mods too...there are some numbers floating around, but they're either contridictory, or dissappointing, or both. Pure speculation, but is it even going to be possible to get some nice gains out of the tc's engine with these sort of mods (as more parts are being released everyday it seems,) or is FI going to be the only way if you want to gain HP in the realm of 30+, even 20+ easily? I still don't know enough about engines to hazard a guess.

True, the numbers on that link above are nice, I just wish they would've shown exactly what parts they used (other than just saying intake/headers/exhaust/throttle body, I want to know which ones ) Especially since those sorts of gains don't seem to mesh up with the sorts of gains a lot of the posters here have gotten from installing bolt-ons.

Oh well.

I agree... I feel that the biggest flaw w/ the tc lies in it's suspension. There are lots of cars that will destroy us in a straight, but come into the canyons and handle it, and you'll get more fun out of it. Go w/ suspension... Just my two cents...
