Well from all the Toyota folks I've talked to I don't think there will be a dL...from what I know so far. Scion plans on eventually breakin off like lexus, and having something like 12 cars for sale sooner or later. When I asked around they said the tC was gonna be the most expensive car they make, so I really don't see how the dL would be feasable since it would most like cost more then the tC. Now this is just what I've heard from salesmen, so don't freak out. But it just seems more then likely, that if a sedan comes out, it will not be as impressive, looks wise, as the tC, I see something more like a suzuki forenza then anything. Its just seems hard for me to visualize, since everything I've heard when talkin to different people is that the tC is going to be the most expensive vehicle produced.

well, coming from a salesman, don't believe them. we don't know what the hell corporate scion is doing. i heard in the beginning that scion would have it's own dealerships within 4 years of release, and that there would be a new model every year. but, scion is trying to give a unique feel. and having 12 different models might hinder that. especially if you're only trying to get x, y generation buyers. 12 economy automobiles

emps got the right idea. There will be a new car comming out soon, but the price and what it is, is hard to tell. having 12 Scion models, I dunno about that.

This is really the first car forum I've really been associated with/followed. For the past... 7 years or so I've been following the whole amusement park/roller coaster scene and it's totally reminescent in how people post things that they heard from the dude that works at the Toyota dealership's used car lot but knows the head mechanic who talks to the owner of the lot who then talks to the main guy himself, which is where he gets all his info.

I never believe anything until there's a press-kit. 12 Scions? I don't think that will ever happen.

Wow, First of all the tC as the top of the Scion line? I can't see that. How many 14K cars can they put out? Anything's thats not a sub-compact like the xA/B is going to cost 15k +.

second there's 0 solid inof on what dL is, it could be anything from a roadster to a sedan to a mini-truck. So how exactly do you know the dL is gonna cost more than the tC. Man where do you guys come from...

Ignoring the rest of the post, this part Still makes no sense to me, we don't know what the "dL" is going to be, it could be a sedan but then again it could be a three wheeled RHD mailtruck, noone knows so to say it would most likely cost more than the tC is a bit premature.

Of course everyone knows someone, who knows someone, ect.
I think its great we have so many people who are brainstorming trying to decide what type of vehicle we are going to get next, I dont think its great that some people have to try and impress people by saying that they are in the know and everyone else is wrong.
Some of your info may be correct, however in my experience salesmen generally know this sort of thing about the same time they get the brochures from the head office. And when you start posting your opinions then you allow others to tell you why they have a differing opinion. If you want to get upset by that, please be my guest, but dont act offended like you were just posting what you were told.

First off, I don't think the tC is that impressive...

Second, Scion could easily drop a 4-door, Evo look-alike, with decent hp numbers and a stiff suspension, lose the silly moonroof and give it a six speed instead... Then offer it up for $17K and take the tC's throne...

And don't forget the TRD supercharger. It'll be a drive-it-off-the-lot option by then...

I doubt the tC will be the best car Scion ever makes... If so, That's a pretty weak flagship! IMO

I "heard" the dl is going to be a mid engine part snowmobile/part shopping cart. It will have wheels that can retract (according to the drawings I've "seen", it will operate like those trucks that can drive on railroad tracks.)

I 'heard" it will be powered by a air-cooled flat-four (like older vw's) that will put out about 85hp. I also "heard" that they will make a limited number of them (about 700) and that they have actually been presold to Scion salespeople.

Sorry to break the bad news to everyone

As stated earlier in this post, dealership personnel don’t know jack about what corporate Scion is doing. Dealers are owned by people not Toyota/Scion. Dealers are the last to know anything. Don’t put any stock in anything a dealer tells you about unreleased models.
