Default See My Bumper Repair Job!

Drove my 2008 Scion XD Hot Lava over a nasty rock. Ugly damage. 3 body shop estimates all came in over $3000. Turns out there's only 20 of these after market bumpers available, bla bla bla. Whether I turned it into insurance or not, having the body shop do the replacement would still cost me over $3000 with my $750 deductible as my rates would go up drastically over the next 3 years.

My daughter's friend’s Dad has his own business through Colors On Parade. I drove her right up onto my porch and he worked on it for around 4-5 hours, repairing, sanding and painting. $300. It's now like new!!!

Took lots of photos for you! http://www.flickr.com/photos/2627325...7619115676079/

300 and he still earns

this gives you an idea why other would charge you 3,000 about 10 times more for the job.

Wow - that repair looks great.

I'm a big fan of street repairs (ie: non shop) and in NY there's a ton of talented guys who will work outside of the shop and give you some good pricing. Color match is always the biggest issue - but yours turned out great - congrats!

Hopefully it lasts, looks like he is set up like guys around here that go by the slang bumper gypsie. 1/10th the price of any body shop but most repairs wont last longer then a year, usually have over spray everywhere and usually the color aint right. Looks like he did a great job on your repair, but only time will tell.
