TORRANCE, Calif., March 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Scion, from Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., will unveil an all-new concept vehicle at a press conference at the 2005 New York International Auto Show.

This all-new concept, known as t2B, reflects Scion’s key product philosophies of style, versatility and surprise. It encompasses bold exterior styling, innovative features, and a passenger-friendly interior, all packaged with Scion’s requisite fun-to-drive factor.

The Scion press conference will be held on Thursday, March 24 in the Special Events Hall downstairs in the Javits Convention Center at 8:30 am EST.

Just had another thought of what it could mean. What if what they are showing us is just a design concept for when the tC gets redesigned in a few years. t2B could just mean "tC to be."

Hmm. The xB, xA, Vitz, etc. are classified as 2Box in Japan. From the description from allscion is seems it will share some 2Box designs.

Oh well, it will be revealed on March 24. FOUR days after i turn 24...hmm any correlation here? :rofl:

I guess I now have a reason to really go to the show...I will definitely take some pics once I am there....I have a feeling its going to be an SUV type vehicle....maybe somenthing like the Rav4...we will see...only time will tell...:)

T2B probably doesn't have any more meaning behind it than the xA, xB, or tC names.

I just hope it's not cooler/faster/cheaper than my tC =(. Maybe it'll be a good looking sedan? Noticing the trend they could go from a weird looking small car to a bigger weird looking car, to a good looking coupe to a good looking sedan.

The Open Deck looks as though it has lost it's rear seat room. That's the main reason I got a XB and not a Mini.

And where do you put your amp and speakers?

And what would you put in a truck bed that 3' long? I don't understand.
The rear seat folds down and the rear window folds up, then it has the same load carrying space of the xB. And the tailgate folds down and you could ride a 4 wheeler up in that mother :clap:

scion has stated from day 1 that the cars will not evolve nor be 'replaced'
the models cycle will be shorter than the industry normal 8 yrs...
one model will have a life, then be discontinued...not replaced...
a new model will join the scion lineup but is not replacing anything...

Replacement doesn't have to mean updated version, or in this case even similar vehicle. just the vehicle that they start selling when they stop selling the other one. but I think if they were going to let one of the scions go(the xA and xB were release the same time in CA were they not?) then it would be the lower selling xA. At least from an economic stand point, that and they can keep the naming scheme in order and not have skipped letters.

I dont think it is going to be the truck becuase my dealer was talking about the truck coming out the end of this year or mid next year. Why would they have a concept car of something I am sure they would already have started to produce or will soon.

And your point is? Who cares? Does it make them any lesser vehicles? Oh yeah - BTW - your tC is nothing more than a two door Toyota Avensis! :blah:

Finally another person figured it out. The tC is a copy of the European Avensis. The chasis and many of the suspension is taken from that car.
I hope they don't make me regret tuning my xB. I already regret sometimes when I see my friends tC.

lol, figured it out? scion said that from the start, it was all over press releases... They were quite proud about it since Avensis is quite nice car, indefinitly better than Camry. tC shares almost everything mechanically with Avensis...

Avensis is the same class car as Honda Accord which is sold in the US as Acura TSX...

The guy that I see at the dealer all the time, just told me that he has no clue. He also asked if I knew anything. They get a heads up about 3 days prior to the public knowing. Just so they can know something before the public.

That is not 100% true. Some dealers don't know or don't care. There are a rare few of us that do car. And do know. Trust me. I will know before the public does. I guess that is one of the wonderful side effects of being friends with the distric rep.

I was at work and jeopardizing my livelihood. I sat through 10 min. of BS to find the Ford concept Urban "sanctuary". Except for the chop top and 2.4l engine, I found it cartoonish and laughable. Carnival int. lighting!!! What's with the front end?! Even for 5axis! This aint for me.
