Check Out My Headlights :)
i've had the yellow bulbs in the car for a few months and have never been bothered. imo, cops don't care because they don't glare and annoy other drivers. i got pulled over when i had piaa's on another car because they were really blue. i guess cops don't care about yellow.
the overlays have changed the color of the bulbs alot. they are now as gold as possible. not yellow like lexus fogs but an actual gold. it looks really amazing and i've gotten nothing but compliments. light output was affected but only very slightly. to the point that it's not even an issue, even in the rain. i'll try and get some decent pictures up soon. no digital camera for me so i have to borrow my friends.
thanks for the compliments guys. i swapped my city lights to amber bulbs and smoked my tail lights so i'll put up some pics of that soon. my next mod is to convert the turn signal lights into city lights and have the city lights become the turn signal lights. i thought it would be something cool to distinguish myself. once i have a clue about how to do it i'll let everyone check it out.

on a side note, those overlays are a pain in the butt to install. i'm a noob though so it's probably just me, but it is very easy to f**K it up, so take your time. the quality though is amazing. the overlays are pretty thick and are obviously a quality product. the finish is excellent and the fit is great. i'd recommend it to anyone trying to make a real statement with their car on a limited budget.
boo!! I got pulled over a few days ago for my yellow Luminics!! CHP is so stingy, city police didnt care but CHP...that was another story....now what...maybe I can talk to lumincs and exchange them for another more legal looking color?
i think it doesn't look good. the faded yellow looks
better on complete "raced" out looking cars..
if you had a CF hood, some bad wheels wheels,
and a very aggressive drop... i can see you MAYBE
pulling it off.. with just yellow tint on the headlights..
or i mean "overlays" or whatever, it just looks stupid.
stupid like.. i think people will say
"oh god.. what was that guy thinking"
is that constructive enough for you?

I'm sure you'll do something to your box that will make someone think "wow what the hell was hahajoey thinking" that is so stup;id. Do whatever you want to your car randomsuper an screw everyone elses opinion. You do not tune a car for approval from someone, you do it for the love and pride of your ride and what YOU think is cool. Do I think your car would look better with a carbon hood and some more mods to set off your yellow lenses? Yes, but that is just my opinion, do what makes you and your wallet happy.
P.S. A wise man once said "It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

i agree, and i've been waiting for my cf hood and lip kit for close to 2 months. maybe once i have those, i'll have your approval.
again, you are entitled to your opinion, but you don't have to be a di*k. save the sarcasm and wack insults. i'm sure your car has some mods others don't like because it's all a question of taste, but don't go around poisining threads with your sorry attitude.
rs2.0: thanks for the support. it's nice to see some people have the right idea.

looks good!
no need to flame (not directed at anyone). if you dont like it, you dont need to post really. i dont believe he asked for your opinion on the matter
keep doing your thing and ignore haters

When you say that light was slightly affected, did you mean that your lights were dimmed somewhat, or just that the color is harder to see? I've thought about getting yellow overlays on my car because they supposedly help you see better in the snow, but it defeats the purpose if it diminishes the light output. What do you think?
it diminshes the ability of the light to travel. it doesn't go as far as it would normally, but not by much. i've driven in heavy rain and i could see perfect. in the snow maybe the yellow would help you see better, but i doubt it. all it will do is change the color of the light. imo, it just looks great. it's not a performance mod in any way.
Thanks for the quick response! Just a couple of follow-up items: Are you using the stock bulbs? Do you think using a higher-output bulb would help throw the light out a bit farther? Honestly, I'd be doing it primarily for looks myself, but if there's a significant decrease in performance, I feel that it wouldn't be worth it. About how much did you spend on it, by the way? And you said they were a pain to install; about how long did it take you?
wow. i guess because i'm not a di*krider like way too many people on this site i'm a ricer. whatever. i guess i'll have to order some vip wheels and an authentic jdm ist cup holder so i can be cool too.
i currently have some nokya bulbs that are brighter than stock and it's still a little tame. honestly, if you put in a more performance oriented bulb like sylvania silverstars it would work better. i'm perfectly fine with my bulbs though. it was raining over here and i could see just fine.
i think it cost me around $40.00 but i don't remember. i had them sitting in my room for a month before i had the guts to install them. install took me about 45 minutes, but i was very careful and wanted to make sure i didn't mess anything up. the hard part was making sure i got any and all air bubbles out while laying it down around the curved sections of the headlight. it took a lot of convincing and careful work with a hair dryer to make sure everything fit snug. i'm sure a professional could do it in no time, but this was completely new to me.
