Default Stock 06' Sideskirts

Anyone know if the colored 06' sideskirts will fit an 05'? I would really like to get change the black ones, can't afford a body kit at this time. I checked with the local parts dealer, he had no clue.

I was just going to ask the same question! I don't know for sure, but the sheet metal is (well should be) exactly the same, so it SHOULD be a direct bolt-on. You never know.

It has to be the same. I've been looking at the 05' sideskirt and pictures of the 06' sideskirt, and it looks like it would just bolt-on.

Now I just have to find the price for the sideskirts.

Your Scion dealer parts department HAS to know this, if they don't they're too lazy to look it up or just stupid.

Yes the parts guy knew, the guy looked it up for me when I went down to toyota yesterday to get my spoiler, I asked him about the sideskirts.

It is not just take off the dark grey sideskirt and bolt the 06' one on. You have to buy the pieces individual. Both sideskirts, the two front end caps and the two rear end caps. I am getting it for around $500 this is with my aunt's discount.

That is not a bad idea, I am going to do that.
How much did it cost to do it or did you do it yourself?

Thanks Blue_Estel.

PM autopainter13, tell him I sent you, and he should be able to work something out for you at a very reasonable price... He did mine for trade so it wouldn't be fair to quote you a price off the top of my head.

I would think it would definitely be cheaper to have them painted to match. Are there any issues with the paint not totally adhering? I remember hearing about people doing this to their honda door guards and them eventually peeling. Maybe this was because of bad prep or something.

Thanks for the compliments.

We were a little concerned about the plastic release causing the paint to chip but I haven't had any issues yet. He did some prep work on them prior to painting, they were sanded and primed properly. It's been done for about 8 months now with no issues.

That's cool. I heard that's basically the main thing. Proper prep. I think color matched side skirts would look really nice. So I think i'm going to go for it.

It does make the car look more appealing. But you do have to admit, the 05 black sideskirts do add a nice accent. The color matched skirts would also get scratched to hell with careless passengers. That's just a guess. Anybody have this problem?

very true the black sideskirts do make a nice accent. And yes I too worry about my Colomatched sideskirts getting scratched.....mostly by my girl who is allways clonking her heels into something when getting into the car.

With the xA as my Daily Driver plus my wife and 8 year old as regular passengers I have zero scratches on them.

I was getting the white marks from wax on the grey plastic so that was my initial drive behind painting them.
