DIY: Curb Rash on RS1 rim
ok guys, i lied. this is more of a before and after curb rash DIY. I was too into it while i was fixing the rim that i forgot to take pics as i went along
. Anyways, i'll post the pics of the steps when i do my other wheel.
BEFORE (thanks alot dad)

AFTER (thanks to me)

Well i wanted to see the actual weight of the rim and tire for myself so i put it on my scale.

Looks to be about 46.5 lbs.
Ok when i do the other rim then i will be sure to take some pics as i go along. pretty simple, its just spray paint. i used Rust-Oleum Black Night Metallic spray paint. Enjoy!

My wife put a very small (2" long) on one of my RS1 wheels a week after I had the car. The first time I went to the dealer to have the oil changed they fixed it for me—for free. Looks like they did the same thing as you.
the Rust-Oleum Black Night Metallic is about a 95% match. imma go out on a limb and say its pretty much perfect IMO and i've stared at it for a while a couple of times.
well you can always find a way to sorta "sand" down the curb rash to make it smooth before you spray paint it but im not skilled at that and didnt want to risk making it worse so i just sprayed it on. if you are gonna skip the sanding part like i did, i would recommend that you spray it at different angles to get into all the crevices of the scratch. for me, at some angles, the paint didnt get there and the scratches are still notcieable. i lined index cards between the tire and rim so that the paint wont get on the tire. simply covered the rest of the rim with a trash bag and some paint.

Now if only someone could find a good color match for the regular stock rim...

Polished wheels on the otherhand can be worked out with some sanding then re-polishing. Unless that is what you meant by "chrome" :? ?
