Default LED Swappers and customers.. please read

In light of a lot of recent threads, requests, etc. I feel I should make some clarifications regarding some things I have said.

First, regarding WhiteBlazer.
While some recent happenings with this work have prompted some negative responses out of me, I do not want ANYONE to think I am trying to slam them in any way. I have interacted with Paul some here and think he is a very nice guy. I also do not see him as a scammer or anything else. I do think that some situations could have been handled better relating to keeping the customer updated when long delays occurred with the work. I may talk negative about a situation, or how it was handled, but I try to reserve outright bashing someone unless they deserve it. I mean it when I say I hope that whatever bad times he is having are coming to and end and that all is well. So for the times I have posted stating that he did not handle a situation the best way, I also did not mean that he was intentionally ripping people off.

Regarding other things....
Some have taken a little offense to me saying I will only reccomend certain people for swaps. To be quite honest, I dont like recommending people at all. The reason being that I am putting my name on someone elses work, so if they look bad, I look bad and my word means less to people. There are a couple (you know who you are) that I have talked a lot with and have seen a lot of thier work. They have also proven to me that they will back thier work 100% and bend over backward for the customer, even if this means taking a shot to thier own wallet to make things right. Due to these reasons, I have no problem noting thier name to people and knowing they would treat a customer the same way I would.

As far as those whose names I do not mention, it is not because I am saying they are not good, will rip you off, etc. It is simply because of me not knowing enough about them to put my name on thier work most times. I dont want people to think I am saying that everyone else sucks and you shouldnt try them out. If I know for a fact someone is scamming or will do shoddy work, then I will say so, but that is the only time I will do this. In the case mentioned above, I think that Paul came across some hard times and took more work than he could handle as a result. While I posted that I think this is bad practice and is not good customer service, I also feel that he is a talented person and can easilly redeem himself from this through future work.

I appologize if some of my "matter of fact" or blunt posts offended anyone. That is not my intention. I tend to say exactly what I think about something without explaining all of this sometimes. And as I said before, just because I think someone treated a customer bad in a situation does not mean that I think they are a bad person, or that they will continue to do this. But I will speak up when I see these things, because above all, in any business, I feel that the customer should be updated, in the loop and should always fee 100% assured even if there are issues with the work. They should know that they are being taken care of promptly and properly.

Regarding parts.

This is always a good one, whether it be electronics or anything else. I will NEVER say a part is a good one if I do not feel this is true. But this does not mean I am simply trying to make those selling the part look like they are scamming (unless it is true of course). The pink leds are a good example. Some manufacturers have stated that they dont like making them due to short life. Some manufacturers do make them and dont tell anyone this. I am personally trying to get some for stress testing just to see. And if that means I dont sell any for a year because I am testing them, then that is fine by me. I just like to make sure (or as sure as I can be) that what I am going to sell is going to last. This doesnt mean that I think people who do the pink swaps are trying to rip anyone off. And the leds may last a long time. I just go by the information I have and err on the safe side. This goes for all types of parts and mods.

Again, I appologize if anyone has been personally offended by any of my remarks, as this is not the intention. And I am always willing to help out if someone is having personal issues and is stuck with work they cannot get to. Even if that means not making anything on my part profit wise every now and then (now this doesnt mean I do free swaps so people can go on vacation or anything like that ). I think others on here have proven that they would do the same. While we do make money on this stuff, we are also part of a forum and try to help each other out.

Second that! I'm mostly a lurker here, but I've done my fair share of LED swaps for some local folks. I've also got a very extensive background in cellular electronics.

Anyways, I think engifineer's approach is the correct way in doing this kind of business. That is to say he seems to use the "safe" way of communicating with folks. Don't say something you can't back up, and more importantly, don't lead folks down a wrong path.

Anyways, just my .02 worth. I think Garage1217 and engifineer have been doing great work!
