Default Accident, what do you think?

So I live in the northeast, and it has been storm after storm here for awhile now, so every square inch outside a building is wet. I keep my car garage parked and this morning when I got home and parked it I noticed I parked a little further back than normal. So I decided to pull the car forward only to have my foot slip off the clutch. Before I could react the car stalled forward and right into the metal cabinet we have. There is a scuff mark on the passenger side headlight as well as all sort of front bumper scuffing. There is also a scuff on the driver side of the bumper, near the bottom.

I'm really unhappy because I try to take such good care of my car so it sucks even more. So I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on what to do. It's a new tc (09) and I've only put 19k miles on it. I have a 500 dollar deductible on my insurance, but i'm not sure what route to go. I'd like it fixed right, but I just don't know. I looked at prices on just the bumper, but I got to factor in getting the paint, and having it painted, etc. Plus the scuff on the headlight? What do you guys think?

it may be possible to polish away the headlight scuff, and the bumper is minor. take it to a shop and get a quote for an out of pocket repair. they may go easy on you since youll be paying not insurance

^x2 I wouldn't bother with using insurance, bumper send to get repaired/repainted, headlight buff yourself if the scuff isn't deep.

that stinks...

To bring down the cost on thing you can try sanding your head light down to take out the scuff's.

The bumper you can ask a shop, tell them your low on money and see if they would let you prep it before you paint it. Such as sanding it down. It will bring down the cost on the repair.

The damage you have isn't worth putting a claim through your insurance.

scratch x for bumper, plastic x for headlight. But if you want a new front bumper and would like an OEM one, i think the dealership sells it for 200? and paint is however much the shop charges you

hmmmm well.... if this isnt an OEM bumper, i would watch for fitment issues... i have a non OEM bumper, and my grilles dont fit and it keeps snapping out as well as the OEM front lip doesnt fit on as well..

but how does it look dK? My bumper isn't too bad, but the scuffing along with the dealer holes, I just need to get the replacement. I called around and to have one shipped from the dealership and then get it painted i'm looking upwards of 500+. So I'm gonna make up mind here about the ebay listing.

As for the headlight, plastic x worked phenomenally, there is not one scratch left on it, it looks brand new.

I went with the ebay dealer, seems like at least two of you did as well... Hopefully it will turn out to be a good scenario. Thanks for the input guys, and I appreciate the offer of the repairs M3killer.

So, the bumper arrived early last week, thankfully it's the real deal. Altogether, color keyed and shipped it was 300.

I'm going to wait until it warms up a little to fit it on.

You might want to try and fit it in asap to make sure it fits the car. If not your going to have to figure out a way to cut it down and ect.
