Default BSCC AutoX

This is me back in 2008 at the AutoX novice school in Bremerton, WA. I'm getting ready to move to Omaha and I'm crossing my fingers and hope that there will be AutoX somewhere nearby!

Moving from the Seattle area to Omaha?! I don't think I could do that. I love Seattle haha.

There's definitely Auto-X in that area. They held the SCCA Solo Nationals in Lincoln, NE this last year, which is only like an hour drive from Omaha.

here is a video from the last event of our winter series. it turned out to be my first event with the turbo on full power, and man do i wish i had bought that trd lsd for 500 bucks back when i did my clutch. the next event i will have the hoosiers on and im hoping that they will tame the wheelspin a good amount, or else im going to look into a 5psi spring and boost controller setup as a temporary solution. on the back sweeper i did my best to tip toe through, as i blew sound on my first run cause of tire noise lol. i was barely on the throttle back there (maybe like 20%) and it would break loose.

A good place to start is to look at the track's website and see if there is anything about HPDE (High Performance Driver's/Driving Event) or any kind of car control clinics.

http://www.summitpoint-raceway.com/

Looks like there is an accident avoidance course, but that's more like a car control clinic than open lapping.

http://www.summitpoint-raceway.com/i...d=22&Itemid=18

I'd recommend you actually just go out and give the track a call. Explain what you're looking for and see if they can recommend you anything. Looks like the track's main number is: (304) 725-8444

If you're looking for Auto-X in your area you can try searching for your local SCCA chapter and they should have some info posted on a site or something similar. Again, don't be afraid to pick up the phone and call, it's often the best way to know what's the most up-to-date information. Most people in the racing world are more than happy to get new people racing so you should be in good hands.

Hope that helps.

(Also - just a pet peeve - it doesn't take any longer to write "anyone" or "be" or to capitalize the letter "I," but it makes your post a lot easier to read. Typing words out won't earn you any free respect, but truncating short words is a quick way to get people to ignore you. Just friendly advice. )

Great handwork in the video, Thorium. Quick, with nice cross overs and solid grip 'n' hold during the slalom! Very well done even without traction.

Hard to see your eyes/helmet direction in the video though, can you point the camera a little more to the left on your next outing? I know those GoPro things are hard to aim, but well worth it for self-critique. (I'm making arm-chair racer demands. )

thanks for the comments its always helpful to have someone else look at your performance. ill see if i can angle my camera to point towards me a little more. i just have a cheap kodak camera mounted on my in car camera mount, so it has plenty on adjustability. just an fyi, i race with my eyes closed...
