Shift knobs
Aftermarket shiftknobs are something I'm interested in but don't seem to be talked about a whole lot here.
Well, let's see what you got. Post your shiftknob pics here!

Exellent customer sevice and knobs that look like no other out there. A great company if you want to think 'outside' the box.

I put this in the xB section because that's what I have but I just want to see what others have done so feel free to post!
And I think you guy misunderstood me...I want to know what you guys are all doing. How many guys are using TRD or OBX shifters, etc? How many are using custom? Who's made their own? etc...
Show me the money (or shiftknobs)!

Does anyone know what the maximum safe weight of a shift knob can be?
I'm looking to make a really cool, retro, hot rod/rat rod shift knob out of a hollowed out pineapple grenade, but I don't know if the weight of the grenade will damage my linkage/syncros.
I haven't weighed the grenade yet, but I'd venture to say it's easily in the 3-5 pound range.
Anyone have any ideas?

Ive always wanted a grenade shift knob!!
I have heard about the whole weight on the shifter affecting the synchros thing... But I've also heard it's BS. It could be the same as you resting your hand/arm on the shifter while driving.

I dont know if there is a limit and there is no damage to the trans but you may wear out bushings in the shifter base.it is cable operated.
Much more than this you will have a problem with 2 gear without eating the knob.

Strangely enough, I just took a pick of my interior:
This was originally an aftermarket knob for the 1st Gen. VW GTI. I always liked the way it felt - good grip, and never singes your hand on a hot day. Besides, as most of you know, I'm all about Old Skool! :D

Maybe a pound,The tube is hollow so I could run a LED for the door knob.

I went this route to match the crystal knobs,I also did a key and dip stick to tie it together.
If you want one let me know,But you have to cut the rod below the boot to make it work.
