WOW!
It's Monday afternoon at 2:45 pm, and I am just now getting enough thought back into my head to sit down and write this up. I
REALLY had a good time putting this show on guys. You all make it worth it each and every time, so you all keep coming and I will keep putting s3 on.
Here's my perspective on everything. We raised a couple thousand dollars for the Skate Park again. There were likely close to 2,000 people walk through the door between Saturday night and Sunday. I saw some cars I had never seen, and met some people I had never seen before.
You all had me nervous! There were only 42 cars registered for s3 on the boards this year, we had 60 registered and there were a few that didn't register that were still around. Next year, do me a favor and register so I know what to expect! ;)
I didn't take a single picture, my beautiful wife (pregnant with our new baby) took all of my pics. The ones I post here in a second are all taken by her, and then according to tradition I also post for Benjie!
Putting on a show like this is rewarding in so many ways. I really enjoyed having you all down. You all turned out in droves and each time I saw another roll in, I was smiling inside (even if I looked terrified that there wasn't enough room!).
Thanks go out to everyone who came, showed, attended, sponsored, helped set up, tore down, gave stuff away, manned the booth, judged, cooked, handed out flyers, played free ads, gave me a heads-up on something that needed to be said, offered constructive criticism or just simply had a good time. Obviously that is everyone I have ever met or talked to so really . . .
THANK YOU!!
Also, I wanted to add this. For anyone looking at this show, or was there, you can see the level of commitment that I and everyone who helped make it work have. All the way from the guys who were there at 7 am setting up - to the owners who drove 1650 miles just to see some friends and be a part of it. You can see their passion for their cars and clubs if you simply look at how they clean and customize their own cars. You can see it when they stop b/c therir friend got pulled over and they won't leave him behind. You can see it when something isn't right and someone does something to make it right. This community is one of the best families I have ever been a part of. I am glad that I was able to host an event that you all can come to and have a good time.
I wanted to remind you all that if you can carry that same level of commitment to everything you do jobs, romance, school, family, and anything else you choose to do you will be rewarded with all the riches you'll ever need. I have put all of myself into this community for the past 4 years and I have been rewarded 10 times over! If you can carry that same passion into every aspect pf your lives, you can all be rich with whatever your heart desires! I have made eternal friendships, provided everything my family needs and enjoyed it more than I would have ever imagined. Take that same passion you all have for your cars and clubs and turn it into glory in everything you do!
