Default xB 2nd Gen Roof Rack

Aloha all.

I really like the looks of the new xB, but I can't find any definite information about roofs rack for it. I have search both this and other resources, but all I found was a some references to a roof rack that is no longer in sale.
Roof rack is the single most important part of the car for me. No-roof rack = no purchase. I need ot be able to transport my longboards and stand up paddle boards.

If any one could please help me I would greatly appreciate it.

This will be a deciding factor in my purchase decision.

thx
A,

Aloha, thank you so much.
The two first will include making holes in the car right? (I don't know anything about cars...)

The second one looks ideal, but I read that they stopped making it..\

Any Scion Dealership should be able to get you the Inno Rack.

http://www.optomizescion.com/product...ry=ACCESSORIES

Optomize is the authorized list of accessories for Scion & the parts department will be able to order items from their list.

I agree & the Steel Wheels with Trim rings looks better than I would have expected. Not a bad winter tire option to consider.

the inno one doesnt look too good in my opinion, and makes wind noise on the freeway, but its pretty easily removable and no holes or any modifications to the body are necessary. I just put it on when i need it and take it off when i dont. Heres the best pic i have of it.

the xb in our family is my wife's car. i wanted her to get an element so we looked at it first, then she wanted to see an xb which i was totally against, but when we checked it out i found out how cool it was. she's japanese and we have friends that work pretty high up at toyota so we got it for cost, which helped. anyway, what she didn't like about the element was only 2 back seats, we have 9 year old daughter who likes to have friends over so that was a no go. plus that back door that has to be closed first seemed a pain. i would take it over an hhr though.

okay so I actually decided to get a Nissan Rogue..sweet car..but before you flame me...hear this....it was a huge bait and switch from KingWindward Nissan http://www.kingwindwardnissan.com/ in Kaneohe Oahu Hawaii...yes bait and switch.

Earlier today I call up one of their sales agents, ask if she can give me the price out the door for a spcific model. She said she would call me back, and did 10 minutes later. I was extremely specific, as I didn't think they could give me the price I wanted. I asked her, specifying 3 three times if I could get the Rouge SL for a specific price out the door, and she confirmed 3 times, and asked if we could come over.

Okay, so when I get there they tell us she is busy helping a customer even though I can see she clearly isn't. Another guy is helping us out...shows us the car...we already knew the car...then takes us into his booth...asks what name the car will be in so he can start the registration...my wife say we should actually know if we're getting the car or not, and I add we already have a deal with the sales agent for a specific price. He obviously knows what we are talking about, and leaves the booth to talk to her. He comes back with a print out and say he cannot offer the price we are given.
...and starts giving us the run around on why.

I am really not interested in dealing with people like that, and I just get up and leave. I really can't get angry either, because I feel bad for someone who makes their lively hood by trying to trick people. It must be horrible. I am glad I will NEVER EVER deal with them again.

Now the Scion looks sweet again. The Honda guys wouldn't even return our calls until Monday...even when I said we were very near a purchase decision.

Just go to scion.com, build the thing the way you want. Print out the result and there you go. That's the price, NO HAGGLE add the taxes & processing fees and your done.

If you are recent college grad or active military don't forget to ask for the additional rebate!

Heck when I sold Scion, it wasn't unusual for someone to give me their information over the phone after I had completed the test drive so I had as much of the paperwork done & the car ready when they came in. 1 hour & out.

Just make sure you get the VIN and write down ALL prices & accessories you are adding so there are no surprises when you pick up the car! If it's not right, don't sign the paperwork. It puts ALL the pressure on the dealership to get it right for you!

Well F^#$k it, I'll buy a Scion if it can drive into my garage...I live on a super steep hill...and the car must be able to get into my garage...it shouldn;t be a problem testing it before I make the final decision.

Thank you guys for all your help.

Hey guys

athx for all your advice..I put in an order for the xB.

How is the nautical blue? Thtas the color I chose..and then I added the alarm stuff, and some mats and small things to prtoct from all the sand on my kites, kiteboards and surfboards....

would you add all the paint protection stuff? Or extra warranty?
Anything I forget?
I am looking at the Yakima roof rack and think it looks okay...not great but okay...would be better with rails, but I don;t want to make holes in my roof....

thx

Hey congrats on the xB2. I Have one wish that I should have included that you might consider. The 3M Clear Bra!! I drive a lot of miles and the road rash is getting pretty bad already. If your around sand, dirt, or gravle the clear protection is going to help out a lot with your dark paint!

I am not sure about the dealership paint protection stuff. I suspect any of the synthetic polymer paint protectants are going to achieve the same result. If you find it's important to you, spend the $$ in getting a couple boxes of donuts or sandwiches to take back to the clean up department. When you pick up you car ask if you can watch them detail it & leave the guys some goodies. At our dealership, they wash the car after every service appt. Getting friendly with the poor guys @ clean up will cost you less than paying the aftermarket dept AND there is a good chance that after a couple of visits, they would apply the same paint protection @ no charge!

These guys are the least appreciated people @ the dealership and have more to do with keeping your car clean and free of scratches than anyone!

hmm, we never really discussed detailing and stuff like that...I guess I should've asked. As I said before..I am really not that interested in cars, and I really don't know what to ask for.

They just celled me to chenge the VIN number from my contract..apparently the car they sold me had been sold to someone else too...ah well what can you do :-)

I don't particularly care for the paint stuff...especially not at $400...

anyhoo..thx for your reply :-)
