6. No WEAVING, STUNT DRIVING, or ERATIC MOVES

With the Washington State Patrol and the Washington State Department of Transportation, we will be shutting down the express lanes of the main east-west corridor of the state on I-90. They are originally giving us 3 hours but we are in talks to increase this time as we may have such a large number of cars for this event.

Pre-staging will happen on Mercer Island (location TBA) where everyone will be registered and numbered. We will then allow the cars to individually enter the freeway via the HOV entrance off the island. Everyone will make it to the west bound side of the lanes (before it merges back into the Seattle traffic). We will again line everyone up and remind them of the rules.

There will be media on hand (aerial, photography, and journalists) so please be on your best behavior!!!

If you want to be involved as a sponsor or know someone who does, please send an email to scionparade@teamascension.org.

Everyone will receive a Scion parade commemorative record-breaking take-away.

This event is a fund-raiser for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Greater Washington Chapter. Remember, the Pacific Northwest has three times the rate of occurrence than anywhere else in the WORLD. We are asking for people to give donations as they are lead.

We are also lining up a kick-___ after party with more information to come!

Like I said...this is preliminary info to get it on your calendars. More will come out and this thread will be updated. Promotional flyers will be created and passed out in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia through events and dealerships starting in April.

REMEMBER THIS POST WILL CHANGE CONSTANTLY WITH UPDATED INFORMATION SO CHECK BACK OFTEN!!!

LAST UPDATED - 4/9 @ 10:08 PM PDT

I'm game..

As I come out with ideas then I will post them..

I know CA you were looking for possible staging locations.. I was thinking - maybe you could shut down the park and ride on Eastgate Way by the Bell. dealership to stage -

there's a lot of parking spots there and pretty easy access there to I-90 - the only thing that would need to be checked is if you can get onto the Express Lanes coming west from there.

We have to specifically get onto the express lanes via Mercer Island because they have a surface street directly to HOV lane on-ramp access because WSDOT didn't want to have to contend with us try to enter from the freeway at those speeds and then what happens if dumb joe-schmuck thinks "hey I got the wife & kids...I'll take the HOV". There's no way to keep non-Scions from entering from the freeway that way. This way we have both the west & east enterances closed and the WSP can make sure only appropriate cars enter from the island (they will be at the entrance intersection directing traffic).

I have to go find something somewhere on the island for us but I haven't been there in a decade (not since I was working on the filming of a movie out there - Black Circle Boys with Donnie Wahlberg, Scott Bairstow, and Eric Mabius for those who care).

Well honestly Mercer Island is going to be almost impossible to find somewhere to stage tons of cars (even in smaller groups) - there just isnt' anywhere public with tons of parking.

The only place I can think of is there is a jewish church right off the mercer way exit that may be able to work with you and you can stage maybe a 100 cars there. As of right now I can't think of anywhere else.

Only other thing I can think of is stage them outside of Mercer Island somewhere and in small groups have them travel down 90 get off at Mercer Island Way then back road to the express lane entrance there.
