Code Black: Wald Unveils New Kit for FR-S
We’ve all seen the Rocket Bunny kit for the FR-S. It’s freaking everywhere. Not to knock it (it’s a good looking kit) but I can’t help but feel that it’s getting a little bit played out. That’s where WALD comes in.
The kit isn’t out yet, but it will be soon. I think it looks fantastic, with the exception of the louvered hood. The FR-S is not a cheese grater, and it’s hood does not need to look like one. Besides, how much heat does a naturally aspirated four banger really generate. It’s overkill. The rest of it looks fine, even if it has similar rear fenders to the Rocket Bunny kit.
Still, this kit is a pretty extreme change from the base model. I get the feeling this kit and others like it will be labeled as ricey. I know people are doing it now, but as time passes it’s only going to get worse. But for now, they’re still pretty cool. This is just the opening salvo after all.
