Sweet! A an easy way to make the FR-S as powerful as it should be. This kit comes from the engineering masterminds at Cosworth. That name is probably familiar to long time fans of racing, but they’re not a group that has a lot in common with Toyota or Scion. Aside from tuning the 2ZZ in the Louts Elise, they’ve got nothing for Toyota. Subaru, on the other hand, has been getting on with Cosworth for years now. Over they years Cosworth has gotten pretty good at maxing power out of flat-fours. Now they’re turning that attention to the Toyobaru twins. Thank god.
At the moment, their stage 1 offering is the only one available. The kit contains A new catback exhuast, overpipe, lightweight header, low-temperature thermostat, and an engine reflash. Cosworth claims Stage 1 will net you a solid 30 horsepower over stock. All it’ll cost you is $2,799.
Eventually they’ll start offering power upgrades that’ll get the FR-S into tuned Subaru territory. They’re expecting to get 380 horsepower out of it in the track version. More details in the video below.
