DJ Steve Aoki Turns FR-S into Rolling Rave

Superstar electro DJ Steve Aoki is the latest to get wrapped up in a collaboration with Scion. Together, with the help of car customizer MV Designz, they’ve turned the FR-S into a rolling DJ sound system. If you’re getting flashbacks to Pimp my Ride, don’t worry. The horror will subside soon.

They’re calling this an “Art Car,” which is really just slang for “no performance mods.” What they have done, is added orange and teal accents to the exterior. I actually like the orange accents as a whole package. I think it wouldn’t look as good if they just did the wheels, or just the door handles. That said, that vinyl on the side is just annoying. I get it, it’s Steve Aoki’s logo, but would you put your face on the side of your car if you could? Of course not, it’s dumb.

MV designs have also put several speakers, a mixer and a fog machine in the trunk. So no. This FR-S will not be doing anything remotely close to what this car was originally built to do. Though, it should be a riot at all the events Scion brings it out to this summer. It’s just more likely to turn labels than turn corners.
