Kuhl Racing GT86 Is Obession Defined
Obsession is defined by Oxford Dictionary as, “an idea or thought that continually preoccupies or intrudes on a person’s mind.” And if this GT86 isn’t a classical showcase for that definition, I don’t know what is. Here we have Kuhl Racing’s Toyota GT86. The car was shown off at last year’s Tokyo Auto Salon, and somehow, we missed it. We shouldn’t have, because this is one of the most ridiculously awesome GT86s we’ve ever seen.
Kuhl Racing contracted Artis Izawa to do this amazing piece of art. The car’s paint is actually an engraved metal finish. What happens is that Izawa lays down thin strips of duct tape all over the car in a multitude of designs and patterns, then paints over them with silver paint to get a 3D engraved effect.
According to Kuhl, it took Artis and his team over 100 hours just to lay down the strips of tape. Besides the fantastic paint job, Kuhl also included a Blitz turbine kit, wider exhaust, and a host of other changes to the car. But come on, none of that matters because just look at that paint job.
