Poll: No Steering Wheel Swag – Hot or Not?

Today on “things you should never ever do in a car”: Driving without a steering wheel. I know, that sounds like a really obviously bad idea, but lo and behold, this is a thing.

Detachable steering wheels aren’t a new thing at all. Besides enabling you to drive like a douche, they have some real benefit as a theft deterrent. Who’s going to steal your new Scion if there’s no way to drive it?

I’m not even totally against doing stupid stuff in cars. I love burnouts. I think drifting is cool, even though it’s crashy. I think the guys that drive their cars on two wheels are awesome (and also, totally insane). This though? This barely qualifies as a stunt. Even if it’s off for a few seconds, you never know what could happen on a public road.
