Rumor: BR-Z to Get STi Model?

We mentioned earlier last week that Toyota has no plans for a hotted up FR-S. While that’s sad news for Scion, Subaru looks to be picking up the slack with these teasers.  They’re up right now on STi’s japanese page without any explanation. Just the phrase “Coming Soon” accompanied by photos of the STi logos on a BR-Z.

Will it be turbo charged? Will it come to the US?  Will it handle even better than the current car? We don’t know. All we can do is wait.

Please don’t be just a bodykit.

Nevermind. It’s totally a body kit. Well, that’s not entirely fair. The model they’re teasing is called the BRZ “tS.” As in “Tuned by STi.” Basically, it’s got all the trappings of a real STi model. Recaro seats, front and rear valences, a fat wing… but it’s not a real STi. Even if all that sounds good to you, it’ll probably never come to the US anyway. Major. Bummer.
