Scion Set to Debut Two New Models at NYIAS
The New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) starts next week, and already it’s beginning to heat up. With Scion hoping to renew their relationship with the youth market, the company has decided to show off the evolution of the brand’s youthful identity. What that means is that Scion will be debuting two new youth-oriented models, which harken back to when Scion first entered the US market.
If you haven’t figured out that Scion wants to lower its median age, then you’re blind. According to a recent press release from the brand, visitors to the NYIAS “will see the evolution of Scion through two new models on display for the first time – iM and iA. Revealed to the world in New York, these two vehicles appeal to a savvy generation of young, urban drivers who have unique perspectives and needs.”
First, a production ready iM, a car we saw at last year’s LA Auto Show, and second something called an iA. From the spy shots, the car looks a lot like a rebadged Mazda 2.
If you’re heading to the show, you’ll also be able to check out a few of Scion’s SEMA cars, which are pretty awesome. But all in all, the new Scion lineup still looks a bit stale. Hopefully they can start re-attracting that youth market they so desperately want.
