Scion Set to Debut Two New Vehicles in NYC
Scion is in a bit of a slump as of late. Their sales are down, their lineup is stagnant, and the company’s buyer segment is aging faster than the tC.
While there’s been a lot of talk about taking the company upscale, Scion will first try to revitalize the lineup with a few new cars.
We first saw this at the LA Auto Show with the iM sedan. Based on the Toyota Auris, the iM is set to be a sportier version of the wagon that the rest of Europe gets. And by all accounts, it looks like it could be a lot of fun.
In the next phase, Scion is planning on bringing two more concepts to the New York Auto Show in May. We aren’t too sure of what those two new models will look like, but we’re fairly sure that they will be based off other Toyota products. Most likely though, the cars will be another rebadged version, which might not be the infusion the brand desperately needs.
Hopefully, the gamble pays off for them, but if Scion is going to survive, the company needs an infusion of youth. They need to pull a Lexus.
