Series.HyperBlue BRZ Still Isn’t the BRZ You Want, Unless You Love Blue
As if Subaru heard my post about the BRZ tS STI, it seems that the U.S. is still getting shafted in terms of performance upgrades for the BRZ/FR-S twins. Although, we will get a new variant BRZ. According to Subaru, the new Series.HyperBlue BRZ will be available in the U.S. sometime this fall.
With this package, you not only get a brilliant Hyper Blue paint job that looks very similar to the Polestar Blue, but also a host of interior upgrades. On the inside of the car, the Series.HyperBlue BRZ has a new leather and Alcantara set of seats, with blue accents contrasting with the black throughout the rest of the car. Everything that could get a touch of the new blue color did, including the shift lever boot, steering wheel stitching, and parking brake handle, as well as some of the door trim and console.
Only 500 Series.HyperBlue BRZs will be built, so if you like blue, get on it.
The Series.HyperBlue BRZ once again doesn’t have any performance upgrades though, which definitely is a problem. With falling sales figures, both Toyota and Subaru desperately need to upgrade the BRZ/FR-S if they want the car to continue.
