Stop Teasing Us Subaru and Build the STI BRZ Already
While we patiently wait for Toyota to release the upcoming Supra branded FT-1 concept, Subaru seemingly has decided that they don’t want to wait any longer for Toyota to bring out a faster sports car. Recently, AutoEvolution stumbled upon a patent for an STI branded BRZ and it looks awesome.
We still don’t know if this will head to the United States, or if it will actually come with more horsepower than the pathetic 200 horsepower the current car has. But it does appear that Subaru is at least thinking about turning the concept we saw just a few months ago into an actual production car.
I recently had a conversation with some Toyota reps, and they also agree that the FR-S/BRZ twins desperately need more horsepower, yet it seems the company isn’t pursuing it. Rather, they’re pursuing things like the S-FR concept, which has less horsepower. The exact opposite of what we’ve all been asking for.
Would you all be excited if Subaru came out with an STI BRZ? And do you all think it will just come as an exterior package, without any internal upgrades like the many special editions before it?
