The Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ continue to be the everyman’s sportscar. The two are lightweight, have a relatively good power band, and are both extremely nimble. They can be just hucked into turns at dizzying speeds with no problems.

That said, sales have begun to diminish on the cars, and both companies are looking at ways to increase those figures. One potential way to do that would be to offer all the options that are only available for the Toyobaru twins in Japan.

Subaru just launched the new 2015 BRZ and it comes with a whole host of options we don’t get in the States, including a tweaked chassis, and the ability to better spec them out for racing and autocross. You can even get a fully stripped down version that takes out the air-conditioning, floor mats, and alloy rims.

Maybe if Scion and Subaru would go with this type of customization, much like they used to, they’d start selling more once again.
