Scions are fairly basic transportation. They’re just simple in the exactly the way that, say a new Lexus, is not. There’s not a lot of whiz-bang technogadgetry in any of their cars mechanicals. Consequentially, there’s not a lot that can go wrong either.
That’s a good thing. It means that when you get bit by the modding bug (and shortly afterward when something needs fixing) it’s easy to do it yourself. Keeping it simple gives you a chance to fix your own crap. That’s a rarity these days. Cherish it.
