Toyota Racing Development FR-S Rules
Toyota Racing Development wants to build fun things. They want to build fast things. They build Baja rigs. They build NASCAR cars. They build driftmobiles. And then, also sell parts to you and me to make our cars and trucks more fun.
They are my kind of people. Recently, they looked at the FR-S and figured it needed that TRD touch too. What they came up with is what the FR-S should’ve been, and what it can still be.
Helped along by a few companies such as Evasive Motorsports, GReddy, Tchnocraft, TRD, and KMA Productions, the team set about at creating the best FR-S they could. They didn’t want to make the best racecar, but rather the best overall performer. That means more horsepower, better suspension pieces, and a whole host of other parts that make this little car fly!
They did a whole series of videos for the project so check them out.
For me, this build represents what I would love to do to my own FR-S. A little bit more horsepower and some better handling would give me much more confidence in a car that already rewards my ham-fisted approach to driving.
I really wish TRD would just use this as a development car and then offer the parts at the dealer for either you or me to buy. So sound off in the comments, should Toyota offer these parts?>>
