Tuned Tests 350hp Turbocharged FR-S on the Track
The car is this case is a track oriented thing that’s still in development, but it’s still pretty important. The thing is, the FR-S is slow. Really, the only complaint that anyone who has driven one has had, was that it’s lacking power. So the first thing that people are going to shoot for is turbos, thanks to their instantaneous power improvement and relative ease of installation. As in, relatively easier than replacing the engine with a V8.
I joke, but I also imagine that a turbo charger is on a lot of kid’s wishlists. The car in this video isn’t finished, but it’s performance is still worth checking out. They’ve wrung 350hp out of the flat-four with 9 pounds of boost on a stock bottom end. Honestly? In a car that weighs as little as it does, that sounds like a recipe for excitement.
