Twin-Charged Toyobaru Is THE Way to Up Horsepower
For me, the FR-S/BRZ twins are about as perfect as you can get in a modern sports car. Each are analog beauties without a lot of computer trickery trying to make you a “better” driver. Also, each car delivers a great driving experience, no matter what speed you’re going.
That said, where the Toyobaru twins are lacking at times, is in the power department. Thankfully, the aftermarket has done quite a lot to help the little sports car along. Be it through a supercharger, turbocharger, or another performance modification, the Toyobaru twins are certainly able to climb into that healthier power category.
However, while a supercharger will eliminate the initial lag from the motor, and a turbo will give it more top end, neither provides a steady torque curve like an NA motor. Unless you twin charge it, like the guys from MRT Performance.
This is THE way to go for upping the horsepower of your Toyobaru, and I’m not the kind of guy who just holds my wallet up in the air and shouts, “SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!”
