Fredric Aasbø Drops Smoke Bombs at Gatebil Rudskogen 2013

On the freeway from time to time we all encounter drivers who weave through traffic 25 mph faster than the posted speed limit. Perhaps on some occasions you’ve been “that guy”. On the drift circuit, Norway’s Fredric Aasbø is “that guy” as you can see in the video below.

Aasbø is one of the top drifters in the world, and it makes sense when you think about how Gatebil Rudskogen in Norway (arguably Formula Drift’s premier exhibition) is his home track event. It seems like some of Gatebil Rudskogen’s high-thrill DNA transfers to Aasbø’s drifting DNA. The amount of smoke Aasbø can generate is obscene: he can make a forest fire feel inadequate. I elect to blame Aasbø’s smoke-production skills on the influence Gatebil has had on him.
