Default 165 MPH in my Porsche

I know I had promised this video to a few people so here it is. Sorry about the horrible camera job. If you pause it a few times when he actualy has it on the speedo you will see me top out the odometer. Thats in 20 MPH increments if you cant read the numbers.

Thats a european spec mr2 turbo. He had a higher top end than me and had a jump on me. I help with him. but we came up on traffic. he hit his brakes to warn me, i slowed down and he took the shoulder and went for it.

This was in europe on an autobahn by the way. Dont want anyone givng me the speeding around people lecture. That van we passed was probably doing 100+.

Yeah that will no doubtedly happen. its amazing how safe it can be. I am sure I was cruising one hand on the wheel all relaxed. And a car pulled out infront of us and I was able to slow down.
In the states yes it can be unsafe. But over there its business as usual.
I should post video of my wifes corolla topped out at 113MPH with her sleeping beside me and us cruising in traffic with a minivan full of kids next to me. God I miss it over there.

What year is your Porsche? I know that newer models top out at 173-175. This is just a basic Carrera. I've never heard of a "european spec" MR-2 T topping out at that fast. He had to be doing 170 at least....

I had a 1988 944S. I dont know much about the euro spec Mr2s. I was surprised it had a top end that high. It had an exhuast on it. But as fast as we were going I couldnt really see if it was hooked up or not.
As you can tell with mine, there was no rev limiter or speed limiter so I was able to take it deep into the red. I actually could have been going faster. I had 18" wheels on instead of the 15" phonedials. A bigger wheel will mean you are going faster than it says.
Here is a pciture:

Sweet ride, nice wheels. What kind of wheels are they? They look kind of like the G-35's wheels.
