I love the cube design... but as metioned above quality issues... I had a 2004 sentra 1.8s and it was the biggest piece I've ever driven... the seats ripped, The paint was literally falling off, the body panels were not aligned correctly.. and a few interior trim pieces ballooned for some reason... im sour on nissan as well.. there customer service is crap too at least corporate was.. not to mention the trunk had to be repainted because of a paint defect.. and the resale value was bad i paid 15k for my sentra it was worth 7k to a dealer 2 and a half years later with 42k on it..

I have had almost the exact opposite luck with Nissan. had a 92 hardbody PU and a stanza and they were both great (the stanza developed leaky fuel injectors at 110,000 miles but that was it). I had a sentra for about a week and really liked it but the dealer screwed up the paperwork and we had some other paper related issues so I never went back after I dropped off the car and got my trade in back but then got the Nissan truck and loved it.

Nissan pickups have always been , for the most part very solid.
Back in the day, from 1990 our local Used Japanese Engine business here on the coast would make runs down to LA, and back (250 + 250 miles per journey) to go pick up used Japanese engines from Long Beach in a 1990 Nissan Hardbody (white regular cab, 4cyl). Last I saw in 2004-5 it had 260K miles on it, they had there own personal mechanic that would work on the Nissan when ever it would need something, but for the most part very dependable.

Its just too bad in recent years Nissan has given into the consume more mentality (that our great nation is built on) , and mainly imported the Marano's, 350z's, Pathfinders, X-terras, Armada's ..... gas guzzling ******

Default Think we're all confused

Scion's taking a new direction to appease us but WTF are they thinking with the new XB redesign? Still have to roll my eyes when I see one roll by or plenty of them in the lot at the dealerships. What are we to do if Scion doesn't get with it? lol

In order to get the fuel efficient 1.5L engine, consumers have to either buy a Yaris or Prius .... thats it! The 1.8L DVVT-i is also fairly fuel efficient as well, but tends to also be in cars weighting 2700+ lbs.

Its not exactly that the new xB is total crap, but pails in comparison to the xB1 in terms of overall differentiation/style/ good gas milage/ etc. So the new xB2 mainly appeals to someone needing that extra hp/torque to cart things around, and are not overly/seriously concerned about mpg (however, I'm not so sure I know of anyone now a days that isn't talking a bunch about mpg, how to increase it, etc.)

^^^Hmmm, I spoke to a Nissan Rep at school last week and he said..."The Cube isn't coming to the States, no matter what you hear on the internet!"

Your article says that it's coming...who do I believe?...

Yea...when I look at it...I love the concept...but I'd still want to place a first gen xB front clip on the cube to give it a better look IMO...

One of our very own Scion dealers argued with me for 40 minutes about how I should trade in my '05...on a brand new 2007 xB. I tried to correct him. I really did.

Frankly, if a dealership rep told you what time it was, I'd get a second source. Generally, they know how to sell cars......and little else.

Believe the article.

^^^It wasn't a dealer rep but a rep that specifically works for Nissan corporate. In other words, he has inside connections with NissanNorthAmerica... :D

If the Cube is coming it is because Scion was stupid to redesign the xB into a hybrid Hyundai/ VW.

The 2nd gen xB, prior to the gas crunch was not selling at all.

So the Cube fills the void.

Personally I'm waiting for the return of FIAT! (Fiat 500!)

Im not thinking about trading in the xB anytime soon, but when I do, i if these come and are re-designed nicely, i'd get one.
