Scion was a cool brand, but all of a sudden it stopped being a cool brand. At least the "new" Scion anyway. Sales are still good so I'm sure the brand will live on, but its a totally different buyer now. It'll never be the same. Us 1st gen owners all know that deep down.
I'm looking forward to the Cube. Scion took the box away so I hope Nissan brings it back to us.

As I said in another post recently here on ScionLife...
We keep imagining what the "US Cube" might look like, and come up with things like this:
When instead we will probably get the new re-design of it that was leaked - the melted bar of soap...
I'd have to see that in person to know if I could stomach it.
I'd still like to see Toyota/Scion bring in the Materia to the states...
BUT, for right now I'm happy with my xB and pleased that it is holding it's value exceptionally well.

Take a look at the various generations of the Nissan Cube.
Only one of them was angular, the rest were simply small rounded econoboxes.
The latest redesign back into the rounded bulk mover it started as is no big surprise.
The question is just which version we get: Will they freeze it at the older angular box for the US and just move the JDM model to the new design, or will we get the redesign, too.

OK, here is info on the actual LHD US version - and they DID reverse
the rear window lopsidedness so there isn't the huge blindspot for
LHD drivers...

This is the official US Cube site from Nissan.
1.8l, 122HP, 6-speed manual or continuously variable auto,
pushbutton ignition, 6 airbags, RFID key, etc...

estimated average of 30+ MPG, the official rating has not been released. that is the same as the xB first gen. it will probably be capable of better with the 6 speed though.
Overall, i think Nissan will pick up where Toyota made their fatal flaw by drastically redesigning the xB. If the opportunity presents itself, i know i would love to have a cube.

Sad.
Toyota has a LHD direct replacement for the Scion xB running in
markets all over the world, but Nissan and Kia are the only small Urban
Utility Vehicles anyone is bringing in to the US.
After all the effort to establish the xB Classic here, Toyota just dropped
the ball.
I really don't want a Kia, and I'd prefer a Toyota, but I WILL look at the
Nissan, and one of these days I will need to replace Vanilla...
