Caliber SRT-4

if i were to buy one, I would get the basic one. Because just like the scion, i would want to customize it too. like the navi, i would get the avid-d3 or something eventually. so i wouldn't want it from the factory like that... not a bad car for about 23k...

a tc looks way better then that caliber.
Tc has better reliability
caliber owns the Tc on speed. buuttttttttt... Just add stage 2 turbotoyotas and waaalllaaaaa!!!! caliber gets owned by a Tc.

I was at dodge recently and saw the csrt4 and with its 4k markup it was 27k. My toyota dealership took a wrx with all of the Sri upgrades minus the bodykit, and every Perrin suuspension component possible. 4500 miles and sold for 23,5k
I like the csrt but for the money its a rip off. The sti sleeper would hand the calipers Enterprise rent-a-cars ___ to it, lol
Either way their both faster than my tc, and I'm ok with it.

look, the srt series is alot faster and has alot more power potential than stock scions period. yes, they are faster and sportier. but that comes at a cost.
so while they neon srt-4 is faster than the scion, like to have an interior that wasn't taken from a rental car.
also, i'm much more confident in the reliability of toyota/scion than i am in dodge.
and scions are much cheaper to insure than SRT-4's. also get better mpg and run on 87 octane.
so they each have their own advantages. no need to start a ____ing contest.

As both a dodge (Neon SRT4) and scion (Xb) owner:
The SRT platform is as reliable as anything Toyota puts out. Now unreliability due to driver misuse is a separate issue. The stock block on the SRT is a workhorse and I'd feel 100x more confident pushing more power on that block than any current toyota block in the scion range. My toyotas (Xb, Echo Hatch) have been in for more repairs than my SRT4 ever has (1 electrical wiring fix, 1 fixed rattle due to a minstalled aftermarket speaker).
The Caliber SRT4 is on the ugly side, but no more so than the 2nd gen Xb or Xd. Lets not kid ourselves there. Very much a love it or hate affair on either side.
The interior on Dodges and Scions is relatively ____. They are both glorified econoboxes and the interior clearly makes that evident. The scions use plastic in pretty shapes meant to look "futuristic and cool" but it's still cheaply made plastic. I haven't seen the Caliber's interior but I doubt its much of an improvement over the previous SRT4 which is quite crap.
For what its worth my Scion shakes rattles and rolls on the interior far more than than my SRT4. A few service bulletins later and the the Xb's dash and front door panels are stilla rattling pain in the ___ and the rear seats still clang around whenever I go over a bump ("fixed" 3 times already). I've also replaced a failed passenger seatbelt 2 times now. I won't ever bother to mention the ____ paint Toyota uses which scratches like nobody's business. The clearcoat is about as strong as a 90 year old grandmothers bite (when she isn't wearing her dentures). My paint is in poor shape despite being washed and waxed on a regular basis from day one.
Now I don't have any experience with a TC to speak of, but people do tend to forget that Toyotas have their fare share of problems like any other car does. The whole "JDM" reliability goes out the window when you can't even back out of a parking spot because the transmission has decided to jam on you. I get similiar mileage on my SRT4 (provided I'm not stomping on it) as I do on my Xb, and the only time the SRT4 is in the shop getting repairs is when I'm putting in there for upgrades. It ain't perfect but it has been more reliable and had fewer annoyances than my current and previous Toyota. Oh and the SRT4 is cheaper for me to insure than my Xb.
I wouldn't blindly buy a car from either brand, they both have their turds. I tend to judge each individual car model on it's own instead of blindly attributing quality or reliability to "domestic" or "JDM" nonsense.

It's one of the better looking interior for a generic American car that I've seen, but with that said, it's the equivalent to an 80's German car, or a 90's Japanese car.
And that boost gauge has to be the most out of place thing ever put inside a car.

I'd be more interested in reliability. I've known quite a few people with SRT-4 motors. They were all in the Dodge Neon SRT-4s, but they were SRT-4 motors nonetheless. I like the fact that Dodge is willing to stick their necks out for the consumers and give them something the market has been craving, but I have not personally (this is personally...not an attack on anyone, so don't jump my behind) known anyone's SRT-4 motor to make it past 80,000 miles (most didn't make it that far). I would blame that it's because they drove like bats out of hell and took their vehicles to the track often, but let's face it that's what these cars were made for. Dodge is my #1 when it comes to American vehicles. I have been a fan for a long time, but I just haven't seen the proof in the pudding with the SRT-4 motors.

I am going to say that before I got the Tc I was a neon owner, it was very good and realible until I put aftermarket ____ on it and It literally got messedup, after that I went to dodge turned it in and got a caliber R/T, let me tell you that it to be a regular model it was fast and confortable and spacious. I turned it after I knew I was going to pay too much and getting in again into another American car that was going top depriceiate very quickly.
I went to Toyota to see the camery, I wasnted the camry because I was going to be a family man, damn the camry is nice but came out too expensive as well, I didn’t like the the scion line at all but after I saw the tc and what it offered I got it. Despite of the how small it is, and its potenstial I think that you make your car.
NOW the SRT$ may be ugly but it has power, I think if I had the money I would change for the SRT, but at the monet I am in the process of buying a place to live.
Plus the SRT $ has a main sticker price of almost 27k
