Chevy Cobalt SS
I was just wondering what your guy's opinion was on the Chevy Cobalt SS. i have obviously looked on the cobalt forums and such, and those guys are in love with them. but i just wanted to see what you all thought about it.
since i will be getting a new car, i have came down to these two cars:
Scion tC: 5spd
Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharged: 5spd

BOB!!! stay in the family! get a 5 speed tC, its night and day compared to an auto tC! i know i had 1 of each
plus ive been in a SS Cobalt. and compared to the tC, they arent as nice, and the tC has a lot more room. get a 5 speed tC!!!

that would be an awesome car.. however i am trying to keep the car under 20k otd.
this way i am not loosing any money. basically insurance is gonna give me 20 k if the car is totalled, so i have that much to spend and i refuse to spend anymore.
on a side note, i have been drawn to the spec edition tC now.
i know what it comes with and what it doesnt, however for 15k that is a GREAT deal. i will go buy some rims and drop it the same day..

I test drove the SS before getting my Tc. Reason was that I am 6'5'' and a little on the chubby side of 3 bills, so for rooms sake go with the Tc. If you want performance and dont mind buying 91 octane (and are not "husky") go with the SS.
But, I also have ridden in a supercharged Tc, not too bad, no noticible difference in power between the two.
Finally, if you want to keep er under 20k be careful about the SS, when you add all of the bells and whistles (that a tc somes stock with) you are looking closer to 22k.

Someone here may flame me for this, but you may also try the civic si. I raced one, (dont forget that I slow my car down some) and it was fast. Id say 200 feet in, he had me (and Im not the worst driver ever, either).
Just remember you would be "another" civic owner and the insurance and gas will run you a little more, and you can outfit a tc quite nicely for 19k.

Some 20 years ago, I had the grandaddy to the Cobalt SS...the Cavalier Z24. GM jammed that little V6 into the coupe version, and it was a hot little car. We won many red light races back in college. However, the car seemed not to be put together like my cousin's Toyota bought a month before. Go for the Scion.
