Daihatsu Copen Z

Daihatsu Copen Z
So we've read reports from Scion (Mr. Press, new Scion VP i think) mentioning "that we (toyota) have heard owners wanting a convertible." Originally released at the 2005 Frankfurt Auto Show, this thing is different from the regular Copen. The regular Copen is a Turbocharged 660cc hardtop convertible pumping out a a whopping 64bHP! But the Z (not Nissan Z) is powered by a 1.5L engine (probably the familiar 1NZFE) rated at 109bHP (new SAE more likely 103bHP). It will be shown at this week's Tokyo Motor Show. Check out the bump on the hood I dont care it looks like a VWNewBeetle convertible.

This better not be sold as a TOYOTA. I want to see SCION badging on this one (dL?).

while i too would like to see the copen here, it realistically won't happen.
there is no way it could pass the minimum US frontal and side impact standards. its smaller than a miata -- heck, its smaller than an elise. but, one can dream
