Dodge's Answer to the XB - The Hornet
I just recieved my new Road & Track and there it is - Dodge's answer to the XB.
It is called the Hornet.
The article states that it is for the European market but they are seriously considering America also.
It seems to be a cross between the upcoming XB and the current car.
The major problem that the Hornet will have is that it still is a Dodge!

Can you say copy-cat? That about as close to an xB as they could get... But the only major issue i have with it is those letters on it that say DODGE Im not sayin i dont think they did good.... but i really dont think it can compete... especially since Scion has the Toyota name and dependability backing it. And also the Scion Pure Pricing. Because if anyone is like me... car salesmen are satin And, is that actually the production model?

Looks more like an Xa to me. This size vehicle segment is starting to get pretty big. I know in 2008, Nissan is brining the CUBE over from Japan.

Kinda looks like a cross between a saturn vue and mini cooper. Of course the production version will probably look blah and its a dodge (they make the neon)

It looks like a cross between an xB and an xA...but with Honda Element rear doors.
I actually like the way it looks. Too bad it's a Dodge.

"The car, smaller than the Caliber, has a 1.6 liter supercharged engine with 170 hp and 165 lb-ft (224 Nm) of torque (both at 4,000 rpm); the intercooler is visible from the grille, and includes a functional hood scoop. The transmission is a six-speed manual."

It's actually on the new mini cooper platform, so it has a similar stance to it... personally I love the design. If it was made by Toyota I'd trade my xB in for it in a heartbeat

I have serious doubts about reliability.

Looks hot but It's a dodge.... I'm sure it won't get nearly as phenominal gas mileage as the xB - that's a given. but it really does look hot!
The dash "compartments" or design - whatever - is definitely a bite off of the xB. The radio/navigation area and center console, by the drivers right arm, both look so hot!!!

Engine: 1.6L 16-valve, OHC Supercharged, I/C
127 kW (170 hp SAE) @ 4000 rpm
224 N m (165 lb.-ft.) @ 4000 rpm
Drivetrain: Front-wheel Drive, 6-speed manual
Suspension: Front: Macpherson Strut
Rear: Semi-Independent
0-97 km/h (0-60 mph) : 6.7 sec.
Top speed: 209 km/h (130 mph)
Vehicle Weight (est.): 1409 kg. (3100 lbs.)
A little heavy, but better looking than the future new xb
not great looking but cool.
If I didn't already have a REAL xb, and it came down to the hornet or the new xb
i'd buy a dodge

It seems like all these new cars are just trying to make Mini-Vans cool. I even think that most new "SUVs" are just mini vans in disguise. About this Dodge. Could they make it less obvious that they were copying. Scion did a great job designing the Xb. I think that is a true sign of anything great is if others try to copy it.

^^^ certainly true in terms of legroom and head room. the xB has the space an SUV should have but is in the package of a car. My hummer h2 sucks - it's cramped on the back.... when the driver has his seat all the way back, i have to like turn my feet sideways when i am sitting in the back seats!!! i'm 6'1" and size 11.5 foot. im not a giant by any means.
xb > SUVs. I have an 06 xb right now with 1800 miles on it. If Toyota decides to make that other pt cruiser looking thing into the next xB, i'm buying another CURRENT model xB and hording it somewhere - until my current one explodes in a fiery inferno!!!
