Drove a Cobalt rental today...POS
I rented a Chevy Cobalt today, what a POS car. It feels like a slug. The interior was soo cheap. Speakers sounded like they were made of cardboard. Sound was so bad, the wife made me turn off the music cuz it was hurting her ears. It puts no doubt into my mind why GM is in such a dump. The steering felt so bad, doesn't inspire any confidence in the car at all.
When I got my Tc back I felt so happy. Even our modestly priced Tc is lightyears ahead of the GM crap. Even my wife was complaining all the way after she drove the Cobalt back to the airport. My wife drives a VW, and she couldn't stand driving the Cobalt. Did I mention it was slow and unresponsive.
Thank GOD for Toyota!

Was without my car for 4 days. The Toyota Corolla rental I had felt crappy.
Cars i test drove or sat in over the weekend felt crappy, including the Civic and Mazda3. You know, everything is relative - without experiencing the tC, those cars would've felt a whole lot better!!
So nice to get my car back tonight. Judging it against its direct competition really makes you appreciate it more.

It was a base model Cobolt. But the point is even a base model should be a decent car to drive. I didn't expect a rocket car but that car was so badly built. A Corolla is not going to be a Tc but at least it was a decent car to drive for a short period of time. I couldn't stand the Cobolt even for the 6 hours that I had it. The thing felt so bad on the freeway. You step on the gas and you wait for about 1 second for a response from the engine. A base Civic is much more responsive than that POS car. You shouldn't have to spend for an SS to get a decent Cobolt. In in SS trim I am sure, the interior and ergonomics still fall far short. I am not bashing on all American built cars but econo cars made by GM suck bad. You shouldn't have to pay 30k to get a decent American built car.
