Coming home from SCCA meeting last night it started to snow. It was just beginning to accumulate on the roads. The drive to/from Watkins Glen from home is along a major road, but it's no highway. It was a bit slick and still snowing and I kept running into trains of cars going about 30 (speed limit on this road is 55).

Thankfully there are many passing zones. At one point I ended up passing a tractor trailer and 4 cars at once. I don't think I even had to go over the speed limit to do it. The whole time I was behind this particular train (in 2nd gear, mind you.....) I was gassing it and sliding the rear end around out of sheer boredom. The g/f kept freaking out thinking I was going to pass every time. It was amusing.

Then further down the road when I was by myself (and traveling at a safe speed), I almost got swiped by a VW Beetle spinning in the middle of the road. I'm not even sure what she did to cause it, it was a straight section of road.... but the back end of her car spun around toward me and must have missed the rear quarter of my car by an inch. I could see it in my side mirror and it was ____ing close.

Of course she spun around and ended up in a shallow ditch. I turned around to stop and hold traffic and make sure she was OK. She was scared out of her mind but able to drive out of it.

We ended up with 4-5" of very light powder this morning. Was sliding around on the way to work, having some fun and saw a guy in a red bugeye doing the same thing. We waved, it was funny. We were both enjoying ourselves.

Sucks for you guys, we've had a bunch of good storms here. They're calling for 18-24" on tuesday/wednesday.

I may not have any snow where I am (damnit)... but I do have one of these:

An SCCA friend just brought it back from Japan (he was there for work).

Well it officially snowed enough here to where I'm pushing it with my pumper. I took that as a sign to go inside before Something bad happened.
