Default just a curious ponderance

okay, while watching the last episode of top gear where james and jeremy had to create an add for the volkswagen scirocco tdi. durring the add where they showed the mazda rx-8 was shown passing it, a curious question popped into my head...is it possible to make a diesel powered rotary?

thinking about it, the biggest problems with the rotary engine is low torque, and poor fuel mileage. but diesel engines are known for getting way more torque, and 40% more energy content than gas engines.

so am i just crazy? or does it sound like a good idea?

well one of my friends said that rolls royce made diesel rotary engines, and another said that you can convert a rotary engine to run on bio diesel with only a few mods. so i guess it isn't as strange as i thought...
