Sorry. I just can't not compare them to the classics, so that and the new Charger suck nut, aesthetically - to me.
Have fun - until you go to the Mobil station... ;)

Call me crazy, but I think the auto design industry should be heading forward instead of back. The Japanese have it right. Sure (mostly) baby-boomers think that the Challenger concept is hot now. But wait until it's been on the road a while, do you really want to live in a 2020 where new cars are running around looking like they were built 50 years prior?

Ford got it right with the new stang; and Dodge will have it right with the new Challenger. This Camaro? It's closer to the original then the new GTO is to it's birthname; but Chevy has some work to do yet. I'm from that era, and this new one just does not hit you with that "flashback" feeling some of the other retro cars have done. But in fairness, at least they are trying.

I still don't particularly care for it, but I like it a lot more than the Challenger.

Ford learned their lesson from the T-bird a couple years ago--retro style with a huge price tag does not move cars. The new 'stang remained retro & a great value as well; and is a success. Chevy brought out the SSR, didn't even give it a manual it's first year, and Chevy has months worth of inventory due to it's hi price. Hopefully they have learned their lesson if/when they bring out the Camaro.
I grew up a Chevy boy, first car was a 66 Chevelle ( had 2 actually ), and fave car was my 70 1/2 'maro. Had a friend with a 69 with 500+hp; so i was fairly familiar with Chevys in general, and in particular gm's little hot rod. The new show car seemed almost rushed to the press; probably why it does have Caddy type styling traits. If they can soften the lines a bit and adhere to the old "coke bottle" styling of the first gen models, and keep it in the $25-30 range +/-, they will have a big hit.
As for the Challenger, that does hit the mark for styling ( another friend of mine had a 71 ). It looks close.... but it is still a Dodge.
At least the domestic guys are trying...

Yea I was gonna say.. the new Camaro looks nice and all, but my heart is really with the new Challenger. It's such a badass car and great modern-retro design. It's a real head turner and will hopefully have the performance to match.
