Finally heard it from the Kabura designer's mouth that Mazda hopes to compete with the tC with this car.

I don't know if this is going to make it to production. With the 3, Miata and RX-8 already here, I'm not quite sure where this would fit in. If you price it too low, you're competing with the 3. Price it in the mid 20's and now you're competing against a RX-8. Not to mention the fact you already have the most popular roadster in the last 15 years in the mid 20's too.
This doesn't compete with the 350Z either because that's the RX-8s job.
I think they will get a good response from the concept and integrate design elements from this into the above three models. Or, just make one a little more vanilla than this design and call it a Mazda 3 coupe.......?
