Default My new Car :o (Low bandwidth warning!!)

I had to give up my xb when I moved to Japan 5 months ago.
When I got here I started looking around for a replacement.
I was going to buy the Japanese version bB but after considering the Tax and cost of gas I decided to look into a kei, well I already knew Toyota had bought out Daihatsu and after talking to a friend of my wife’s who owns a used car lot we ordered a new Daihatsu move custom.
It’s the first redesign sense the buy out and you can really see that it gets allot of the Toyota technology and styling.
I have been driving it for 2 months now and I love it, it’s a great car and even with its tiny engine I have never felt like it was under powered even with 4 large adults riding and climbing some steep hills, it’s no problem.

Anyways enjoy (we just got back from a road trip so its a little dirty)
And do you think a car like this would sell in the US market??

how about one of my favorites, proximity sensing locking and push start, I never take the key out of my pocket, unlocks when I get close and locks when I walk away.

I think Lexus uses the same system

I think they should offer these cars in the US, if they can sell smart cars then why not kei cars?

I would have bought one of those instead of my 06 XA if they were aailable here. Looks like a great value also.

We never get any of the coolest cars imported here

Only problem is, after all the taxes the US will slap on that thing it will likely have a price tag in the low to mid 20's. I mean look how much more tech it has than our xB's for less money than stock.

What is the mileage like on that bad boy?

Highway about 45mpg in the city 35-40mpg today I got about 35mpg average because it was a holiday and I spent 2 hours stuck in traffic.

one of the reasons this car is so cheap is because the engine is so small 0.66L but you dont really notice because its turbo and a little smaller then an xb and I'm sure allot lighter.

Aw, I love Daihatsu! I bought an old Charade as my beater in high school and loved it - that car was completely bulletproof.

It has something to do with the CVT transmission but can’t remember off the top of my head,I'll check it out when I get home.
I have to figure everything out by myself sense I can’t read Japanese and they don’t have anything in English, it took me almost a month to get the basic navi operation down.

Work and family, I'm not Japanese but my wife is and we thought it would be good for our son to know both his cultures, also I work in IT and I had received some job offers while over here visiting so I thought it would be a good opportunity to try something different.

and BTW, the "B" on the shifter i believe stands for "Braking". CVT's dont provide very good engine braking, so you shift into "B" when going down a hill (since there is no low gear because there are no gears at all) and while in that mode it allows for better engine braking... ive seen this before in cars in the UK with CVT's so i think it would b the same in japan

Your right I just checked the manual and had my wife translate it and it says its for engine braking on steep hills and the "S" is for engine breaking on small hills, but I have no idea what the "S" stands for I thought it was sport,,,,,but not anymore.
