OK guys, I am just curious. What would you like to see from the next Scion vehicle? Leave your comments as replies, but be sure to vote in the poll.

Personally? I am waiting for the first manufacturer to wake up and offer a small, inexpensive coupe or sedan with RWD and an engine compartment that is roomy enough to bolt in something larger.

I would honestly buy an Echo coupe if it were RWD. I bet I could fit an SR20DET in it!

I think toyota should bring over those cool looking cars they have in japan. The scion brand should be the Americans way out of the usual crap trucks, suvs, coupes and sedans. Its pretty damn sad that Canada gets the vitz and Mexico gets the smart cars. We get crap!

  Yeah. If toyota made something like that I just might need to buy that. Be nice have like the 1.8L in a RWD form then that way you can slap on the S/C. Then have the 2.4L as a option & the S/C for that also. So you woule have 1 car with 4 different HP ratings

:? Not sure of that one. I got some stats from GT3, they seem close to real life at times. So for a Sprinter Trueno GT Apex aka AE86 is 925kg so 2035lbs. Still looking at GT3 it had 128hp & 110tq from a 1.6L engine. So using the new corolla engine you would only gain 2hp but 15tq. So it might work. Now that I see those weighed that much just think if they made a XRS model with a good deal of carbon fiber parts for even less weight.

Edit: some real stats on the AE86 http://www.j-garage.com/3510.htm

The Tacoma price range is way off for first time buyers. Except the two door 3 passenger model. Not that practical for people who need a 5-seater.

A truck, two suicide doors that open independently. Seats 5-people (rear seating should be 4" more than the Tacoma access cab. RWD with Electronic AWD (at a push of a button or activates once it senses lack of front wheel traction/grip.

Powered by the 1AZFSE D-4 or the new D-4 180 Diesel Engine but in a smaller displacement to make it cheaper. Also better fuel economy. Standard TRAC and VSC. You'll need TRAC for the rear wheels with all the gobs of torque that this ScionLife Member wants and needs. :D

150-165bHP with 215-225+ lbs of torque (can be accomplish with a diesel or turbo diesel). 2006 is almost here as well as the new revised diesel fuel requirements. Max payload w/o occupants: 1500lbs with a towing capacity of 3500lbs (weight: trailer bed PLUS a road race ready xA or SCCA tC).

Available in M/T or A/T. Both shifters should be attached to the dash and not the floor. See Matrix/Corolla shifter placement.

The bed should fit plywood the size used to cover peoples windows during a hurricane. Push the rear wheels/wheel humps a bit outside of the bed so there is more width on the floor.

Weight of the truck: at or less than 3000lbs.

Price: ~$18000. Yeah it's going to get tough to sell the above specs at this price point. Maybe make the Truck at Toyota's Mexico plant. Dont do it at NUMMI. If it's done at NUMMI, GM probably would want one due to sharing contracts.

sounds like a plan... lets make it happen scion... hopefully it'll have at least 140 hp... and a super strong suspension/frame to handle the abuse people are going to give it...

:edit: wow this topic is old...
